As part of our public enlightenment to break the silence on menstruation matters, we held discussion forums within members of Umuaghara women, Umuezuo Umuokirika women association, Ogbor Oru women association and Eagle social club. Both men and women of 3 host communities reflected & committed to discuss menstruation matters with their daughters. They were empowered with communication strategies, supported to work in groups & the women presented their strategies to improve mother-daughter relationship while the men committed to ending the stigma against girls & women on menstruation as well, create a supportive environment for their daughters & wives.

In addition to community-level talks, house-to-house visits were conducted & conversations on menstruation matters amplified. Households like the Akujuobi, Njoku, Egbujor & Mba were educated and supported to have inter-generational dialogue on menstruation & SRH. Key topics were on family support (financial, psychological & medical) to their daughters & wives during menstruation & the roles of family members (father, mother & siblings) in breaking the silence.
